Riding motorbike was never in my mind in a million years, up until I had to catch the bus to work and back everyday. My office is located on St. Kilda Road and is 13 kilometers from where I live and it takes the bus on average one hour each way, which means I was spending 10 hours each week on the bus doing nothing plus $32.5/week for fares. So I though 150cc scooter to ride to work would be a good option. I spent one Saturday for training at the motorcycle training centre, did the test (easier than primary school test), and got the L plate,. The next weekend, I asked my sister who is also riding a scooter, to come with me for shopping for a scooter and also maybe she can give me some advices . But rather then advices, she insisted me to get a Yamaha Virago 250cc instead because to her a 150cc scooter can't do 100k/h on the freeway and it's kind of boring of just "twist and go" so I ended up buying a Yamaha Virago 250cc.
I admit ridding bike is a dangerous thing to do, you are too small on the road and other drivers are not used to look out for bikes. My advice to riders: be cautious on the road, and wear proper riding gear. My advice to drivers: please look out for bikes.
So do I like my bike? Well, it's a small cruiser bike, not too heavy or too bulky for sneaking around in heavy traffic, but after getting a hold of if, I feel like I need a bit more powerful bike.
